Quality billiard tables are available in any price point beginning at about $1800. You should determine your usage and how long you want the table to last. A furniture quality table will last forever. Even in a rental environment we can always obtain parts from one of the few quality manufacturers still in the market. Beware of online sales as this is not the case. Most of the woods from China are not kiln dried. The products are sealed and stained with some moisture inside. This moisture will eventually escape and leave large cracks in the wood when it does. If you are not planning on keeping the table for a long time or if it is just for your kids to use a couple of years, then the lower end online tables may work fine. The chart below shows the best size table for your available space:

We recommend some 48" cues in the Outer Banks because of all the kids playing daily... less damage and it makes for a better game. Always choose the 8' table when possible. There is normally only $100 price difference in the cost and it's a better game for adults. But we also have a custom 6' table available for smaller rooms that need the billiard table amenity.

We prefer the darker cloth colors as they seem to look better in the later years. However, the new Teflon stain resistant fabric may indeed allow the lighter shades to look well longer.

Billiard lighting is very good to have whenever possible. At the correct height, usually 30"-32" above table, you will find less shadows on the playing surface. The lighting fixture ends up at eye level so keep in mind that the fixture is the first thing someone will see coming into your game room. Durability is also a big issue in rental home situations. We recommend metal lighting fixtures in rental homes. And if you are considering a conversion table top, the ping pong top will not work with a lighting fixture that hangs this low as it will become an obstacle.

39" = 7' table

44" = 8' table

If we get a work order for "recover the table" with no size or color request, we will do same color as is on the website and assume 8' size.
